We were interested in learning
about the top processes that people in law firms think are in greatest need of improvement. We asked just five questions to begin
our exploration and got some very interesting answers to our unscientific survey. Firms represented in the survey are aware that all sorts of processes could stand to be improved and the respondents identified processes that support marketing and business development as the
highest vote-getters, closely followed by technology related processes, responses were fairly well distributed across the
types we provided.
Additionally, we learned more about the approaches that firms are
taking to process improvement and project management. And we discovered that more firms are choosing the strategic, systematic
approach to process improvement by structuring the overall PI/PM program first and then building PI/PM skills and capacity
(often through project delivery, a very efficient way to acquire skills in both disciplines).
